Wrapped Bracelet

One of the best things about having all the kiddos home for Christmas is crafting together!  I have shown a few of the crafts we have been doing, but today we merged crafts.
We were very lucky to be sent a friendship bracelet kit from Craftprojects.com. We have used it a bunch and made several bracelets.  Most of them were given away before I got a photo.  However we made one together that Abba wants to keep.

Abba is 8 and and could do this project with just a little help from me.  Mostly, it involved me holding the embroidery floss in place while the craft glue dried.

After we got the plastic bracelet wrapped, she wanted to add something more.  You can use buttons or beads which we did on other ones but for this one Abba wanted a flower.

So, I broke out my new polymer clay mold from Whole Port.  It is so easy to use!  You just smash in enough clay to fill the mold, then make the back flat with a scraper, then pop it out.  Do it a few more times with different colors then bake them to the specifications on your clay.

We used Sculpey clay but all clay has different cooking times so make sure you follow the directions on the package.

They are just like the matte Cabochons I have bought in the past.  If you like them shiny you can by a gloss to put on them after baking them.

Then it was time to add our flower to our bracelet.  Just a little bit of E600 and about an hour of drying time and we were done.

I adore the way it turned out, if the bangle fit me better, I would keep it.  However I’m very glad she likes it! So how about you, have you been doing any crafting with your kiddos?

Oooh, I love it, Kadie! I have been wanting some of those moulds but I still have too many cabochons on hand to justify it. 😉 It is a great touch though!!

  4. I love how this bracelet came out! The flower is beautiful!
