I wrote a post last week about connecting cursive writing in Cricut Design Space. I spoke of a font that I downloaded from a free font site. I have gotten some questions about how to upload a new font into Cricut Design Space. It’s easier than you would think, I’ll walk you through it today.
There are several free font sites, I use DaFont.com most often when looking for a font I can’t find in Design Space. For today’s tutorial I am going to use a font from DaFont but the same steps should work from other font sites. If you are looking for a very specific font you can use Google to find a site where you can find it. Not all fonts are going to be free, however you can often find something similar from a free font site.
I have a few projects I want to use a monogram on so I have been looking for a good monogram font. I searched monogram on Dafont and decided to download the Free Monogram font.
Before you start the installation process make sure you are NOT signed into Cricut Design Space.
Start by clicking on the download button on the right side of the screen. This screen will pop up.
Click on the file and when it opens click on the font. Then click on the button install in the upper left hand corner.
After you have clicked the install button , and the font has finished installing, open the Cricut Design Space. *Tip~on some computers you will need to restart your computer at this point for the font to install completely. If you open Design Space and don’t see your new font, close out all programs and restart your computer.*
Click on add text and type your word or phrase. Then click on edit and fonts, find your new font and click on it.
After you click on your new font it will change your word or phrase into the new font.
There you are a new free font in your Cricut Design Space. This font will stay in your Design Space unless you uninstall it from your computer. Now you are ready to cut out your design on your Cricut Design Space
I hope you found this helpful and will try it out. I love trying new fonts!
