Pretty Paper Heart Chain

All the kiddos were home from school yesterday.  So, to keep them all busy for a while we made paper heart chains.  I am not a hearts-all-over-the-place kind of gal, usually.  But these are so cute and they add such a fun pop of color that I am totally fine with them hanging around the next month or so.

Do you want to make some with your kiddos?  Of course you do.  Here’s what you will need.

  • Scrapbook paper. Double sided paper works best.  If you don’t have any like us that will work great too. Or felt would work as well.
  • Paper cutter, or scissors
  • stapler

Cut you scrapbook paper into 1 inch strips.  Fold your paper in half length ways.

Next fold the two ends together to make a heart.

Staple those ends together.  Pretty little heart.

Take your next strip of paper and fold it so the wrong side shows.  Put both folded parts together.

Staple this together at the fold.  Then bring both ends together and staple.

Fold, staple, repeat.  Until your chain is as long as you would like it.  If your stapler works better than ours your kiddos can do a lot of it.

Hang them up for a pretty pop of color.

Have fun making your chains.  I would really love to see them if any of you make some.  You can e-mail me or load them on my facebook page.

Thanks for stoppin’ by and hangin’ out.
