I’m sharing my mom’s Cheese Ball recipe, with a couple of my own additions, today.

I always thought is was difficult to make a cheese ball – turns out they are really ease and perfect to make a few days before any get together.

You mix all ingredients in a bowl.  I like to use my hands to mix everything.

Make sure you include my secret ingredient Mezzeta olives.  They give the perfect flavor to cheese balls.

Serve with crackers, more olives, or any other way you can think of.

Total time
Serves: 2
  • 1½ cup butter (or one stick butter)
  • 2 8oz cubes cream cheese
  • 1¼ cup Mezzeta pitted Kalimata olives
  • 1 tablespoon oil from Mezzeta olives
  • 1 - 2 packets dry Italian dressing
  • ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 3 chopped green onions
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts reserved
  1. Add all ingredients {but the walnuts} into a large mixing bowl. Mix all ingredients together. I find the easiest way to do this is with my hands. After all ingredients are mixed well, split mixture into two sections. Roll one section into a ball with your hands and coat the outside with chopped walnuts. Repeat with the second section. After balls are formed, and rolled in walnuts, wrap individually in plastic wrap and refridrate until ready to serve.
