DIY Shooting Star Wands

Is it a wand? Is it a shooting star?? IT’S BOTH,  the Shooting Star Wand.
These are so fun and easy to make.  They take about 15 min and all you need is a dowel, some felt, ribbon, hot glue gun, double sided tape, and a little filler.
{Note: I used dowels sent to me from our lovely sponsor Craftprojectideas.com. Which you can find here. Thanks Craft Project Ideas!}
You are going to start by wrapping your dowel in ribbon.  The tiny 1/4 inch ribbon worked best but the larger 2 inch ribbon worked fine as well.  Use what you have on hand.
  Use a small amount of double sided tape to start wrapping your ribbon.
Then after you get 3/4 of the way done use another small piece of tape to attach your small ribbon tails.  Ribbon tales are about one yard long each.
After you have all your tales on you cover these with the same ribbon you wrapped the dowel with. Using a small amount of hot glue to attach the ribbon.
Next take a piece of felt to cut the star {or other shape} out of.  I used a cookie cutter to trace my shape.  You will need two of these felt shapes.
Use your hot glue to attach the two felt shapes together.  Leave a small opening.
Fill the star with fiber fill or old fabric scraps.  After it’s full  take your ribbon wrapped dowel and cover the end {with out the ribbon tales} in hot glue.  Quickly put this inside your star and press the opening closed.
Let the glue cool and your finished.  They are so fun.
Perfect for little ones, boys and girls, everyone really.
Now we just need a crown. 🙂

    Brilliant idea! I pretended to turn my daughter into a frog with a chopstick yesterday, and now she thinks everything is a magic wand. This would be so perfect!!
