Chunky Crochet Lacy Scarf

I love to make scarves!  So when I opened up an e-mail from Lion Brand about some new patterns, I was really excited to see the pattern for this scarf.  The Crochet Lacy Scarf.

Thank Heavens it came when it did.  I had totally spaced my SIL’s birthday, and that I had promised her a scarf.  She has been asking me for one since I made these scarves.

I used Hometown USA yarn from Lions Brand instead of the wool ease the pattern calls for.  I love the super chunky Hometown USA yarn.  I use it A. LOT. It came out a little wider than I wanted it to. So I unpicked it and started again.  The pattern calls for a chain of 19 to start with I did 17.  This makes it so you only repeat the pattern 3 times in a row.  I hope some of that made sense to some of you.

I love this pattern! The texture and look are wonderful.   It may be a new favorite.   It is an easy pattern and free from Lion Brand Site.  It came together quickly in one day/evening. Which is good because I started it Saturday and her party was on Sunday.  Nothing like cutting it close.

My SIL requested white (this official color is ivory).  But I think I am going to start one for me in a deep red.  It will go with my coat too.

But the ivory does look nice, maybe need two.

Thanks for stoppin’ by and hangin’ out.

I will be linking up to the parties on my party page. Please check them out if you get the time.

  2. Oh I love it! I have still yet to crochet anything for myself.. my kids get it all… and other people’s kids, lol. I might have to make me one of these!

  3. I can barely crochet. And wrapping my head around any new stitches would probably kill me.
