Paper Plate Spring Chickens

I love today’s craft!  I think these little Spring Chickens turned out so cute, and they are super easy.  I had just as much fun making them as the kids.

With Easter right around the corner you might even have all the materials all ready.

You will need:

  • paper plates
  • Foam sheets in yellow and orange
  • googly eyes
  • Easter Basket Grass or shredded gift paper
  • glue
  • scissors

Squeeze glue all over the paper plate. We tried both a glue stick and liquid glue for this,  liquid glue seemed to work better.

Then pile on the Easter basket grass and press it down.

Cut out a semi circle out of the yellow foam for the wings, add notches to one side for feathers.  Cut a triangle out of the orange foam for the beak. Glue them on top of the grass with the googly eyes.   I just free handed the feet out of the orange foam, it’s nice because chicken feet look kind of weird, so it’s hard to mess them up. I glued those to the bottom of the plate.

That’s it easy Paper Plate Spring Chickens.
 Happy Easter, and Happy Spring!!

I will be linking up at Honey Bear Lane and at these other great parties.

That’s a really nice baby craft too… And you can recycle 2easter grass” from christmas gifts… Just my two cents :)
