H is for Heart

Wednesday is supposed to be Wacky Wednesday around the Double Wide. Meaning that it's a day for me to share something I have done with the kids or something fun for kids to do or eat.  I haven't been very good at keeping up with that.  Mostly because the things I do with them are very basic and simple.  However this is the "simple" year so I'm going to share what I have when I have it. Sound good?  I hope so because we have kind of a fun one today.

First I do want to say that it has been so rainy, cold and dark here for the last week that photo's have been tricky.  So sorry about the photo quality.

It has been nice to get back into our schedule after the Holiday break and all the craziness of the last couple of months.  Lotte still takes a good afternoon nap so it gives Wyatt and I some good one on one time.  This week we have been learning about the letter "H".  During this time of year "h" stands for heart.

We did two fun crafts.

First we made a heart.  I cut a heart out of an old card board box.  Then we sat together and glued on strips of pink sparkle tissue paper.  It was fun to sit and chat with my little guy.

Next, we mad heart puzzles   I traced out hearts on purple paper and then on red paper.  I cut the hearts out of the red paper and then cut those hearts in to basic shapes.  A triangle for the bottom, a rectangle, for the middle, and two semi circles at the top.  Then Wyatt glued them in the outline on the purple page, as we said the shapes together.  Then he wrote the capitol H and I helped him write the lower case h.  At the top is his name, {I know it's hard to read}.

Shortly after we finished something got spilled on the page before I could get the photo.  Any whoo, Wyatt was very excited about his page.  Every time he looks at it he says to me "heart starts with h".   He's such a smartie.

What have you been making with your kiddos lately?
