Last month was my first time putting together said meeting. It turned out well and was a lot of fun being able to hang out with some of the women in my area. Well it has been an entire month, today is our night meeting for the month of May.
We are having a talent show for this month. There are so many talented women in the world. I thought it was time that we take a minute (or evening) and celebrate those talents.
If you are like me when you hear talents or talent show, you think of all those women with beautiful voices or the ones that can play an interment, maybe even the ones that can dance gracefully. Our talent show is a little different, sure we will still have some musical talents, but we will also have tables set up where you can display your talent. A few that I know are going to be on display are crocheting ( from me and others), canning, journal, quilting, sewing, gardening, cake making, family history, and painting.
What about all the talents that you can't put on display? Sometimes we feel like we aren't talented because, our talent isn't something that we can put on a table or blog for others to see. Just because you can't physically touch something doesn't make it less real.
I believe a talent is something God given. We can ignore it and tell ourselves that we don't have any talents. Or we can nurture it and watch it grow and blossom. EVERYONE has talents. EVERY. ONE.
It has only been the last couple of years that I have known that to be true. One of my favorite quotes on talents is by Erma Bombeck.
I made these printable pictures of her quote to use in the night meeting. If you would like to print one out all you need to do is right click on the image you want, click on save as, save it as a jpeg. Then open your word processor and insert the image. You can make it the size you want in word. Print it out on card stock or photo paper.
It's part of why I love blogland so much, SO many talents.
Thanks for stoppin' by and hangin' out.

Oh Kadie, this is a great post. I love your variation on a talent show. I think that is a great way to celebrate the diversity of talents that the women in your group have. I certainly believe that canning, for example, is a talent that I wish I had. :) Awesome post.
Amen, sista. ;) Love the printable, thank you, Kadie!!
I sure hope that your night turns out great and that you all have a wonderful time. Good idea to show everyone's talents. Have fun Mom
