This apple crisp is like apple pie filling with a crunchy crumb topping. Not only it is delicious but your house will smell wonderful while it is cooking!
The Recipe:
Filling:
- 8 Medium size apples. Peeled cored and sliced. I like to use half Granny Smith (green) apples and half Red Delicious (red) apples. Use what you like the best.
- 3 TBS flour
- 3-4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
Mix apple slices, flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Pour apple mixture into a 9x13 baking dish.
Crumb topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup rolled oats (quick cooking oatmeal)
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Mix in together in a large bowl with a fork or pastry cutter until the size of a pea. Spread evenly over apple mixture.
Bake at 375 for 35-45 minutes or until topping is golden browned and filling is bubbling.
Enjoy, warm with ice cream!

I love apple crumble, and as you say the smell in the house when you make it is heavenly -
this one looks so good and my imagination is working overtime to give me the smell and taste that i want some right now... but its 9.30am right now and i've just had breakfast so i might have to wait 'till lunchtime to give in ;)
