Back to School Headbands

Thursday I gave you a few teasers.  I am back to show you what the first photo was.

With school, quick hair dos are a must. The bus will be here at 6:30 a.m. and she's not waitin'!
You still want to look cute of course.
Abba got a cute new short hair cut that is perfect for headbands.
I was looking a buying some fabric covered ones. They were so cute but at $3.50 per headband they were more than I wanted to pay. I thought maybe I could figure out how to make my own.  I found 3 wide headbands at the store Wal-Mart for $3.75.
I brought them home and covered them in fabric that I already had.

Then I started looking though my stash of things and came up with ribbon covered ones.  No sewing involved just my hot glue gun.

The skinny ones are just headbands we had on hand that I covered. The ribbon I got from Pick Your Plum, love them! The fabric is from Hobby Lobby I don't remember the name of it, sorry. They were very easy and each one I finished she would be so excited and tell me it was her favorite!!  Right now her favorite is the green one because "I love flowers and it has so many colors!"

So did any of you guess a headband? (from the teaser)  I am sure some of you did you are all so smart!

I also wanted to let you all know about something else I am involved in.

Rikka J.  from Ricochet and Away  and Karen from Sew La Vie  are co-hosting the Retro Pillow Challenge.

I am up for the challenge are you?  It looks like it will be fun.  If you are just learning how to sew or quilt it might be a good challenge for you.  If you are interested click on the button and check out the guidelines.  I will be sharing more with you while I am working on the pillow.

Thanks for hangin out.

As always I will be linking up with the party's in my sidebar, please pay them a visit!

Linking up to these great party's too!

How fun! I'm going to pin this so that I can make some for my second grader--she's all about the hair accessories, right now.

These headbands are so cute! Before reading your post, I assumed that you had bought them at a great price from a craft fair. Now I realize that you have made them yourself! You did a terrific job too! Your daughter looks so cute wearing that pink one too!

I would love for you to stop by and link up at my "Sundae Shake Up" party. I'm sure the girls over there would love to see this tutorial, as many of them have daughters of their own.

I know I'll definitely be using this tutorial soon too, because I have two daughters of my own!

Thanks again for sharing!

The headbands really are darling, but I just can't get over how early the bus picks your kids up! What time does school start?

The tardy bell rings at 8:00. They are usually there 15 min early. It is a long bus ride! :)

These are adorable, I get my headbands from the dollar store. You can get a 4-7 pack of the skinny ones and 2 pk of the thick ones. We also put a magnet on our headbands and a bottle cap on the bottom of our bows so they are interchangeable. My girls love them!
