Beach in a Bottle

We have been redoing our bathroom for about a month now.  It is one of those never ending projects.  Do you have those?  I hope I am not the only one!  Any hoo, I have been waiting to show it to you but I couldn't wait on this project.  I love the way it turned out.

Do you remember all the shells my hubby brought home from a work trip to Florida?  Yes they are still hanging around! And, gotta say driving me nuts!  I vacuum up at least 5 shells a day!

Being a bad blogger I forgot to take a proper before photo. But I think you can imagine it.  A typical plain bottle in the holder above.  I did have some fake flower things in it.  It was cute. But time for a change.

Ahhhh, much better! I just painted the bottom.  Then I stuffed it with tissues.  I didn't want to bother finding that many shells that would fit in here.  Then wrapped the neck and middle of the bottle with twine.  Then I made the flower/sun with the same twine.  For that I made a knot in the end of the twine then wrapped it around its self several times.  Then I braided the twine and wrapped that around the center .  I glued it all on felt to make it stronger. Then glued it on the bottle.  I might have to go look for more bottles I think a whole shelf of them would be fun.  I love the pop of color.

Thanks for hangin' out.

This is one of the cutest things I have seen lately! Love the turquoise painted bottom and twine accents! Smart move on the tissue too! No need to waste shells when you can't see them! Great job!
